If you are tired of an office setting anymore, if you feel that you are overworked but underpaid, tired to wake up in the morning and go to work, or if you want to be financially free. Then it is about time that you should consider becoming an internet entrepreneur and work for yourself.

Now is the time for you look on a new adventure.. Now is the time for you to decide for yourself.  And give yourself some time to get going; do not expect success overnight.

Nothing is ever easy when starting any type of business. Having the right attitude is a central key for a business to survive. Be positive and stay focused at all times. Take a closer look at all the successful Internet entrepreneurs who became rich and famous out of their efforts, you would find they have one thing in common! Dedication! They are set up to work long and hard to achieve their goals. They do not lose heart if everything does not come together today.

Be organized. Logged all your business activities and documents saved in the correct folders. Check your emails at least twice a week and file the important ones. So much time can be saved with a clean and neat desktop.

Avoid putting large amounts of funding in any promotion website! Many websites have a strict rule on spamming and if you are ever accused of sending unsolicited emails, you will probably have your account closed, which could result in you losing your current funding too.

As noted by Professor William Bygrave, entrepreneurship combined with innovation equals success. Naturally, entrepreneurs need to understand new product opportunities and the new product development process if they are to ensure their venture’s survival

If you are not yet ready to be an internet entrepreneur, you can still open your eyes and mind for good opportunities. As the saying goes opportunity knock once, when one comes your way, grab it and make it happen. Here are two choices you can consider:

  • Work freelance – With the right skills and the right training, you can efficiently direct yourself around the business. By being a freelance internet entrepreneur your charge may not be very expensive but all of the financial gain is yours, and more importantly, the full credit will be yours. Your work will be your calling card and your service will be your advertisement.
  • Online Business – It only calls for a strong determination and discipline to succeed. The tools and technologies are readily available to help you succeed. This business does not require you to invest much but you efforts will be rewarded if you set up the business the right way.

These options are worth considering because they allow you to start without having to give up your full-time job. If you are the breadwinner of the family, you need to be certain that you have a stable income source because you need to feed them.

On the other hand, it is a whole lot easier to make the decision if you are still single, because you do not have many commitments yet. If you possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit within you, then go for it, follow your heart and make that decision.

Universities – An Important Depository of Potentialities

At the dawning of commercialization of the Internet, the single largest concentration of users was to be found among university faculty, particularly computer science faculty, and their students. In the initial commercialization phase, students were as important as or more important than faculty. Given this expertise, it is not surprising that universities were the source of several early start-ups. Two of the most-used search engine firms, Inktomi and Google, had university roots (UC Berkeley and Stanford, respectively). The university was not only a source of knowledge and expertise; it was also a source of entrepreneurs.

Computer science students and teachers formed the new wave, but soon students in other departments, particularly business school students, began launching e-commerce start-ups. The ensuing “dot com” fever would make entrepreneurship an important career goal for students and faculty, and many ventures were first conceived and then launched from campus. Career goals for economics students changed from joining an investment bank or consulting firm to establishing or joining a start-up.

In using product strategy, internet entrepreneurs must pay attention to the strength of the value proposition they are offering customers. They also should be guided by the product life cycle in crafting their strategy; they should be obsessively focused on quality.

An internet entrepreneur builds a new venture around an innovative product. In our current business environment, with intense global competition and fast-paced technology development, entrepreneurs face increasing pressure. Even after creating a winning new venture, they must continue to develop new products in order to maintain a profitable market position. New product development is critical for market success.

Regardless of the type of new products entrepreneurs develop, bringing products to market quickly—by mastering the new product development process—is critical for gaining a competitive advantage.

Entrepreneurs who introduce products that are very innovative must be particularly attentive to consumer adoption behavior. Consumer willingness to adopt a new product also is a major factor in the realm of technology products.

The widespread use of the Internet has led to endless possibilities for entrepreneurs to connect information that leads to the discovery of new ideas in several ways.  The Internet has led people to exchange new information with people around the world with whom they would not have shared through other communication lines.

Using the Internet not only enables global startups to discover and/or recognize new ideas and opportunities, but it also enables these internet entrepreneurs to build legitimacy more quickly than would be possible in the real world only. By making use of high levels of global connectivity amongst both ventures and their customers, even the smallest and newest organization can make its presence known and recruit others to endorse it.

The Internet is by definition global in nature, this means that internet entrepreneurs could benefit from the knowledge and insights concerning their technology and products regardless of where these were created, thus expanding the scope of information available.

Internet entrepreneurs’ believes that the Internet is fundamentally changing every industry, but the financial services industry especially.

The Internet provides you with access to so much information. The environment of an Internet company tends to be alive. There is much more a sense of community because the people working there are usually owners in the company as well. Also, the environment of Internet companies tends to be much more casual, which makes it much more fun to come to work.

Their advice to other Internet entrepreneurs is to always keep your eyes open to the many great business opportunities the Internet offers. Sometimes these other opportunities can end up being more successful than your current business. The key to being a successful company, in any industry or of any size, is providing a value-added product or service that keeps improving. There will always be competitors and people trying to copy your idea. You just have to try to stay one step ahead of them. Like many other internet entrepreneurs, Jim Pavilak believes the most important piece of advice he was given when starting his business was to stick with the vision and have the courage to follow it through. Here are additional internet entrepreneurs key success factors to consider:

  • Establish a news team dedicated to the new technology available to online investors.
  • Find capital and understand what benefits a capital source can bring to the table, other than the needed cash.
  • Form an advisory board based on more than members’ pedigrees, such as their willingness to help the company.
  • Develop the right strategic partnerships that validate your business model.
  • Provide a value-added product or service that keeps improving.
  • Create natural barriers to entry in your field that will protect you from competitors of all  sizes.

The bottom line is that regardless of what your exit strategy is, you must always focus on creating a sustainable competitive advantage that will allow your business to be profitable.
